Introduction

Dear Readers,

FESPA has a long track record as an association. Since it was established in Copenhagen in 1962, it has grown and expanded. There are shows in Asia, Africa and South America and the National Associations have been expanded to 37 countries worldwide. Besides shows, many projects are supported by Fespa as well, among which Printeriors and European Sign Expo.

The very first FESPA exhibition was organised by the French FESPA association in Paris in 1963. After this first show, a second show took place in Zurich in 1966 and a third show in London in 1968.

The first show to come will be from 24-27 March 2020, when FESPA Global Print Expo will take place in Madrid, Spain. The theme of the show is ‘Where colour comes alive’, on which Neil Felton, CEO at Fespa comments: ‘Colour is a powerful theme that expresses the boundless opportunities in the decoration industry, from signage and graphics to textile and garments and interior decor’. This magazine contains an interview with Neil Felton and will provide all other important information for your show visit.

Alongside FESPA Global Print Expo, the brand new Sportswear Pro show will also take place in Madrid, Spain, from 24-27 March 2020. ‘There are some incredible technologies and materials that are revolutionising how sportswear is made, but there is no event dedicated to sportswear manufacturing that recognises the growth of sportswear and future trends within the industry,’ says Michael Ryan, Event Manager of Sportswear Pro. He adds: ‘We want to deliver an event that speaks directly to sportswear manufacturers by focusing primarily on sportswear design, production and decoration, while also highlighting the latest technologies in these areas’. In this magazine, you will find an interview with Michael Ryan as well as all important information about Sportswear Pro show.

In 2020, four online magazines will be published on our website free of charge. The layout will be similar to our 2019 online magazines for easy readability on any device. New are our two online show magazines which will enable you to prepare your show visits well. This online magazine about FESPA and Sportswear Pro show is the first. The second online show magazine on PromoTex Expo/PSI and viscom show will be published on 14 December 2020.

Apart from the two online show magazines, another online magazine on embroidery will appear on 12 October and an online magazine on digital & DTG printing on 15 June.

Subscribers who are receiving our regular printed issue in digital format will be receiving their issues in the same layout as the online magazines have.

Enjoy your reading!
