Markets for workwear are expanding further and further and the same applies to the decoration of workwear. We asked three important workwear suppliers on the market about their most popular workwear products, the most popular decoration method and the most popular decoration place.
Tobias Seidel, Head of Marketing and Business Development of Gustav Daiber GmbH replies:
“Our three most popular workwear products in the James & Nicholson collection are polo shirts made of organic cotton, softshell jackets and sweaters. Our workwear polo shirts are made of easy-care fabrics and of high durability. Especially for these three products, the most popular decoration method is embroidery. One of the major advantages of embroidery is the high durability of the decoration. It is still possible to wash the garments as originally recommended by the producer. The most popular place for decoration on workwear is the chest area, which normally allows plenty of space. Also, brand labels as well as other decorations are clearly visible there.”
Eleanor Kingsford-Smith, Brand Ambassador RESULT Clothing Ltd replies:
“Hi-Vis Vests take the number one position in our sold workwear products. Other popular workwear products are trousers, jackets and polo shirts. Transfer printing is the most popular decoration method for our workwear products. Trousers are generally not decorated. The most popular spot for decoration is the left chest and upper back.”
Christian Lanvermann, Brand Manager Russell Europe responds:
“T-shirts are our most-sold workwear product. It is a year-round product that is directly worn on the skin. We recommend providing employees with one T-shirt per working day. Sweatshirts rank second place. Usually, employees are provided with two or three sweatshirts. Trousers rank third. Sweatshirts, jackets, polo shirts and trousers are perfect for embroidery, whereas T-shirts are mostly imprinted. The chosen printing method depends on the volume. Screen print is used for bigger volumes while (digital) transfer printing is perfect for smaller order numbers. DTG print is becoming more and more important as we see great technical innovations with the machine manufacturers. For tops, the most popular place for decoration on workwear is the left chest area and the back.”
